Spiritual Enrichment
We welcome anyone to attend any of our Spiritual Enrichment opportunities.
Becoming a Catholic for Adults / RCIA
The process of becoming a Catholic is called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults(RCIA). We have classes for adults who want to learn more about the Catholic faith. Many who go through the process become full members of the Catholic faith through celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism (for those not yet Baptized into a Christian faith), Eucharist, and Confirmation. This process begins every year in the fall with weekly gatherings. Youth prepare for this sacrament during faith-formation classes when they are juniors in high school.
Bible-Study and Faith-Sharing Classes
We regularly offer Bible-study classes and faith-sharing classes with sessions starting both in the fall and spring. Several small Faith sharing groups (6 – 10 individuals) meet at various times during the year. Topics discussed range from ‘The Mystery of God’ to ‘Living a Deeply Fulfilled Life’ and everything in between. These are discussions on how God is present in our lives and how that transfers to how we interact with others in our everyday lives. Through our faith sharing we provide support for each other on our Faith journey.
The Green Bay Diocese also offers numerous faith formation opportunities for adults throughout the year. Click here for more information: http://www.gbdioc.org/newevangelization/offices-a-programs/adult-faith-formation/aff-classes-events.html
Living Christ Retreat
The Living Christ Retreat is a Parish-based retreat to provide people with a deep encounter with Christ through faith-sharing witness talks given by fellow parishioners on how Christ has led them forward on their faith journey. There are presentations, reflections, prayer, and small-group discussions. Together we discover how Christ is present in our lives, and create an awareness of following Christ in the future which will allow us to become living witnesses of our faith. We hold one retreat in the fall and one in the spring. Times accommodate those who work the customary work-week schedule and still give participants most of a weekend. The retreat starts on a Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to approximately 10:00 p.m. It continues on Friday at 6:00 p.m. to approximately 10:00 p.m. The last day of the retreat is a Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Every six (6) weeks alumni of past retreats gather for spiritual renewal and growth.
2nd Friday for Seniors
Every second Friday of the month from September through April, presentations are offered at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish or Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Ashwaubenon. Although our focus is for senior members of our Parishes, anyone is welcome to attend. The morning begins with 9:00 a.m. Mass followed by a light breakfast and the presentation. Presentations offered are on a variety of topics which include health-care issues, community awareness, entertainment, or spirituality. An RSVP to the Parish that is sponsoring the event is requested so that we can ensure we provide enough breakfast. There is no fee for these presentations, and donations are always appreciated.
Seniors United in Christ
Parishioners from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and Nativity of Our Lord Parish who are retired from work meet at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on the first Monday of the month from October through May. Participants perform service projects, enjoy meals and fellowship, and share spiritual experiences such as the Rosary and Stations of the Cross.
