The snow is melted, flowers are breaking through the ground, the sun is shining (every couple of days), and the 2015-2016 Faith Formation year has come to an end.
184 students were involved in our Faith Formation program this year.
29 students were Confirmed.
34 students received their first Reconciliation and Eucharist.
This is all possible because of several groups of people.
Parents are the first catechists of their children. They sign their students up for Faith Formation, drive them to and from class, and have decided that it is important for their children to attend class and retreats. Parents also volunteer in the classroom helping the catechists, and as door monitors to welcome and direct traffic.
We have 27 volunteer catechists. They plan lessons and activities, teach a class of between 9 and 14 students every week, and, of course, pass on our Catholic faith by sharing Jesus’ love with all the students. On behalf of the Faith Formation Committee, thank you! Thank you to all the volunteer catechists, students, and parents for your dedication to Growing as Disciples and Growing Disciples.
Next year, we would like to have smaller class sizes and have two catechists in each classroom. This means we want to grow this ministry to 31 volunteers. Please take some time to prayerfully discern if God is calling you to join our team next fall. If you have any questions or know of someone who should be invited to join our team, contact Kate or Carrie at the parish office.
Together we work towards advancing our parish mission of Growing as Disciples and Growing Disciples!
