Welcome Desk in Hospitality Area

September 12, 2015 by Committee

We now have tangible evidence of commitment to our vision: “Welcomed, Valued and Enriched in Christ.”

We have a beautiful, hand-crafted Welcome Desk courtesy of the Parish Life Committee. This desk is located just outside the parish office where it will be highly visible and easily accessible to everyone who enters St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Members from different committees will take turns staffing the desk before and after Masses on certain, specific weekends.

This new desk will allow us to:
-Meet & register new parishioners.
-Enroll participants in Religious Education, the Living Christ Retreat, or other such activities.
-Distribute information about opportunities and events within the parish.
-Answer questions that parishioners may have about baptisms, Mass intentions, etc.

Interesting facts:
-The desk was custom built for us by father John Zimmerman and son Eric (19 years old) of Zimmerman Wood Products in Wautoma, Wisconsin.
-The granite top weighs 450 pounds and was purchased locally at The Granite Company.
-The desk is on casters to allow for mobility within the parish.

This desk will be more than a piece of furniture; it will be a hub of activity where personal connections are made. It will be a place where helpful volunteers provide assistance to people seeking answers. The new Welcome Desk will be a permanent reminder of our commitment to Welcoming, Valuing and Enriching each other in Christ.

We’re livestreaming Mass this morning at 8:30am. Click link to be connected https://youtu.be/rr2yQgwUp9E.

If you are not able to receive the Eucharist, you can make a Spiritual Communion. The prayer follows.
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
