Over 150 years ago, the Holy Mother of God appeared to Adele Brise and instructed her to teach the children in their faith. At the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, Wisconsin, this is where Sister Adele began her ministry of teaching the children their faith.
Here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, as in countless parishes around the world, the volunteer catechists support parents and grandparents in teaching their children our catholic faith.
Back in September of 2015, we decided to begin class in grades 1-5 with the rosary. So we gathered in the Worship area, handed out the rosary books, plastic rosary beads and started this wonderful journey of faith in learning to pray the rosary. There was a lot of confusion and uncertainty then of praying the rosary.
Today, March 2016, you do not see uncertainty. What you will see if you come on Mondays to the Worship area are faces so full of God’s love and confidence. You will see the children knowing exactly which bead to hold, and which prayer goes with that bead. You will see eyes wide open, and mouths fully reciting the Hail Mary, the Our Father, and the Glory Be. So confident they are that they take turns reciting the Hail Mary.
Join us each Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. If you’re not sure how to pray the rosary or haven’t prayed it in a long time, don’t worry, our children will lead you!
