What is human trafficking? Who is involved? What can we do to help eradicate this crime? Learn of the dangers of the internet and hear some actual stories of incidents from our region.
We’ll hear from Sr. Celine Goessl and Sr. Kathy Lange, members of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross, an international religious community based in Switzerland. They have taken on Anti-Human Trafficking as their full-time ministry even though they’re both technically retired.
Celine has an educational background in Music Education, a Master’s in Theology with concentration in Liturgy, and a Doctorate in Parish Pastoral Ministry. She has been a teacher and principal in elementary education, a provincial of her USA Province, a pastoral associate for most of her religious life, and a pastoral administrator of parishes that did not have a priest. She has given more that 100 human trafficking awareness presentations in the last few years.
Kathy has an educational background in Secondary Education (both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree). She was a high school teacher for 25 years before she retired and came to live with Celine in 1995 as a pastoral associate. Shortly thereafter she became a Sister and then went on to receive another Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry. Since then she was a pastoral associate in several parishes in Michigan and Wisconsin. She retired in 2017 and began to help Celine give anti-human trafficking talks. Both Sisters now conduct a dialogue presentation for any group who is interested in this topic.
All are welcome. Free presentation. No need to RSVP.
